£17.00 letter!
Hi all
Last week I travelled to Belfast.
Unfortunately the return flight was cancelled due to fog at the airport.
This was not a problem, I changed my flight to the following day, booked in to a hotel and went for a beer. When I got home I set about claiming on my travel insurance - Insurewithease.com.
On the claim form it says that they require written confirmation from the airline that the flight was cancelled.
I rang the Ryanair call centre and the operator was most helpful, of course I could have a letter...for £17.00!
I declined her generous offer and telephoned the insurance company who told me to print the web page with the flight cancellations and they would then consider my claim.
This I`ve done and sent it off and I`m waiting to see what happens...

Re: £17.00 letter!
My insurance company accepted my boarding passes and screenshots which I saved to my PC and printed off.
My insurance paid out £20 for being delayed more than 12 hours.
I only bother taking out basic annual family insurance in case of medical emergency or major incident etc so £20 was not a bad result.

Not a bad result at all.
An extra £20 in your pocket at the end of the day is certainly better than nothing.

Re: £17.00 letter!
for future reference if this happens you don't have to pay the fee, the fee is paid only if you need a "no show" letter (meaning the flight wasn't canceled, you just didn't travel). if the flight is canceled and you need a letter confirming that you have to send a written request to DUB and they will send it to you free of charge. the agent you spoke to in the call center maybe missunderstood the situation and that why he/she advised you that you have to pay
