The founder of easyJet, Stelios Haji-Ioannu, has resigned from the board because he disagrees with its expansion which (he says) brings no value to the shareholders :

EZY new name ?

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou threatens to remove "easy" from its name if easyJet does not improve its performance within 90 days :

It has recently been pointed out that easyJet punctuality from Gatwick is less than 50 %; even Air Zimbabwe has a better ponctuality record !

The new agreement will allow easyJet to use the brand for 50 years, with a minimum commitment of 10 years in return for an annual royalty payment of 0.25 percent of easyJet's revenues, to be paid to Stelios, who owns 37 percent of the company.
The payment will be capped at 3.9 million pounds and 4.95 million pounds for the first two years of the agreement, easyJet said.

"It's fantastic," said O'Leary. "£10m a year for a crappy brand like easyJet. Luckily Mr Ryan [Ryanair founder Tony Ryan] isn't alive. If he'd asked for £10m just for the name, I'd tell you what I'd do: I'd ------- change the name."
What too of Stelios' angling for a dividend, with the comment that "even Michael O'Leary" is paying one now – a £435m special. "We're pleased to be helping out Greeks like him who may be temporarily on their uppers," quipped O'Leary.
Asked if he's met the new easyJet management, now led by ex-Guardian boss Carolyn McCall, O'Leary said: "Jesus no. Some old media luvvie. I'm looking forward to meeting her at some conference in Tora Bora when I've
