Booking: Middle name given instead of First name.

Hi, I have booked two tickets to Spain for my father and his second wife (who are in their seventies...). I have always known his second wife as 'Yvonne Bloggs' so I put that as her first name when I bought the tickets online. I was about to do their online check-in and asked for their passport details. Yvonne tells me that on her passport she is actually Kathleen Yvonne Bloggs, but has always been known as Yvonne, as she prefers this name. Now, an online name change before online check-in is £100...

Should I call Ryanair to rectify this or would this not be a problem (the surname is correct)?

You better call Ryanair. If it is an error, you will have to pay an administration fee of £ 10,00. If you change it online, the computer considers it as a name change, which is much more expensive.

Well, I called Ryanair in France and was advised to do an online name change costing €200, as the 'error' was more than 3 letters. I politely insisted that it was a simple inversion of first and second names (well, it was an inversion and omission really, but hey ho!). The operator said she would consult her supervisor, did so, and came back saying that she could amend the booking for a charge of just €10.

So, after confirming the correct name and paying the ten Euros, I received the amended booking via e-mail within seconds. Sorted!
