Renamed DUB

Ryanair asked its customers how to rename Dublin airport, and here are the results :

DUBLIN AIRPORT RENAMED “JEDWARD” BY POLL OF 10,000 RYANAIR PASSENGERS

Ryanair, Ireland’s favourite airline, today (10th Aug) renamed Dublin Airport Dublin Jedward Airport after a poll of over 10,000 passengers agreed that prices at Dublin airport rise faster than Jedward’s hair. Jedward piped Ivor Callely to top the poll after a late surge for Callely following recent reports that he, like T2, costs the taxpayers a fortune but delivers very little value.

Ryanair launched the online poll after the Govt announced it would consider renaming Dublin Airport in September, prior to the opening of its €1.2bn white elephant Terminal 2, and asked passengers to vote for the best alternative name for the airport, where passenger numbers in 2010 will be as little as 17m, down 30% from 23,5m in the past 2 years.

The results of the Ryanair poll were as follows:

· 31% - Dublin “Jedward” Airport – prices rise quicker than their hair.
· 21% - Dublin “Ivor Callely” Airport – expensive, but is it in Dublin or Cork?
· 20% - Dublin “The Zoo” Airport – home of expensive white elephants (T2)…
· 15% - Dublin “Bertie Ahern” Airport – costs taxpayers a fortune….
· 13% - Dublin “Ray Burke” Airport – “will we get a receipt – will we f**k”…

This must be a good joke for those who understand it and know the people involved, which means that it's rather obscure for the non-Irish. Could a "local" explain it all to the rest of the world ?

Jedward are 2 teenage idiots who were on the UK's X-Factor and cannot sing but who blow dry their hair to stand up
Ivor Callely is an Irish MP who was caught fiddling his govt. expenses by claiming he lived in Cork and not Dublin
DUBs new Terminal 2 is too big and we dont need it for another 10 years and it cost €1.2bn
Bertie Ahern is a former Prime Minister who spent all our money in the days of the Celtic Tiger
Ray Burke is another Irish MP who went to jail for corruption when he accepted cash from property developers

... even for an Irish person this is a pathetic poll and is not a good joke even for those who do understand it!

I think its more likely that in about 30 years time DUB will be renamed Bono International Airport - when he dies!

Couldn't it be "Michael O'Leary International Airport " ?
