Re: Ryanair plane hits deer @EIN
Can someone who is familiar with EIN explain how deer can enter the run-way area?
Shocking, unless this is a Christmas-related spoof, but the Bloomberg story doesn't seem to indicate that!

Re: Ryanair plane hits deer @EIN
The deer probably jumped over the fence around the airport.

Amazing!
Even in Ireland we have fences that stop deer jumping on to motorways, so I would have assumed that something as compact as an airport perimeter would be easier to get right.
Obviously not! Remind me to avoid EIN.

Re: Ryanair plane hits deer @EIN
I've been to the Netherlands several times!
Why do they allow deer to jump airport perimeter fences in Holland? Is the airport in, or next to a forest?
In Dublin, they try and keep rabbits out of the runways - even a rabbit or hare can cause a serious accident.
Am I missing something here?

Re: Ryanair plane hits deer @EIN
Animal control at airports is a difficult and continuous job. Wildlife are constantly breaking through perimeters, and it's a problem at practically every airport the world over. They don't 'allow' deer to jump over the fence, it just happens.
