Priority Boarding Or Not

Hi all,
Having travelled on many flights at different times of the day sometimes with family/friends(2-10 in a group) at times,
I have never purchased Priority boarding but we have been fortunate and have always found seats together - this maybe luck or standing at the gate early rather than later.

understandably passengers book differently due to their circumstances.
Please vote and feel free to add your views.

So far I've never purchased Priority boarding. Personally, I have no use for it as I never travel with a large family who need seats together, etc. But I always queue rather early to get my seat

i can agree that people book in different ways but if ryanair charge £4 for priority booking and there is only a limited amount why not drop this by a £1
to say £3 and pick your seat and then most people would be able to sit together if need be.this would still keep the fares low but you would have a seat hopefully where you want to be or would it be too expensive to administer.i always book priority as there is usually a stampede and i cant run that fast

If Priority Boarding meant I could choose my seat when booking then yes I would purchase Priority on some flights. As it stands buying priority does not always mean you will board before the Other Q , basically once out of the gate it seems the apron becomes a running track at times and the sprint is on this can sometimes get very uncomfortable especially if you are travelling with children or older folk.

Knowing my luck if I purchased Priority so would 185 others on that flight

I think i should just think to use priority for long flights in case there were a lot of people. else my legs are still able to stand to be one of the firsts on the plane..

No, there is a limit on priority bookings. I (think) it's 60 maximum, not more! But i can't belive, there is a flight anywhere with 60 Priorities
I voted with "never" in the poll, but actually i have to say, i might do it once, at my 50th or 100th flight The 50th flight is just 9 bookings away, so maybe i'll do it.... And in the plane i will try for the first (and last time) the catering

The most priority passengers I have seen are 20-30, the catering i am not too keen on.. but the hot chocolate is something to die for

I have never seen more than 10 person with priority boarding and I ever found onboard my favourite sit.

everybody is entitled to purchase in a way they see fit priority or not as people have different reasons for doing so.i find your last comment not in the spirit of the forum

You can book the emergency row seats out of DUB. They are experimenting with it with a view to running it across the metwork. I think it is €10 including Priority Boarding.

At present there is a limit of 90 people per flight who can book priority boarding, it says so on the Ryanair website. My girlfriend and I have purchased ourselfs priority boarding for out Holiday to Estonia this coming August, from Edinburgh. The reason being, that it is my first flight with Ryanair, and first flight in general, so I want to choose a good seat.

Besides, Ryanair's priority boarding pass is also cheaper than Easyjets.

I don't know exactly how it is on the EDI-Estonia flights, but as a rule, there are far less than 90 passengers with priority boarding; in my experience, there are often between 15 and 30 of them.

Ah I see, maybe it is a max of 90, but not many people see buying priority boarding as vital. Personally I like to choose my seat and beat the rush for a good seat.

I've used Priority boarding only once. Only reason was because i had 50 mins from arriving to departing at NYO. So that extra £4 actually came in handy that day as boarding was almost starting as i got there. I usually get to be at the front of the "Other Q" and there isnt more than 20 priority passengers anyway......... unless you want the extra leg room seats stay with non priority..

Never seen the point of this unless you have large group who have to sit together.Never seen point of rushing to gate either especially at bases where you get bussed to the aircraft. Last on bus means first off and ahead of the other pax who queued! hardly rocket science! the Cappucino on board is the best "instant" stuff I've ever had..!
does anyone know why (on most FR flights I have been on) the crew "cordon off" a couple of the front rows?? (around rows 5 and 6 ish) the belts on these seats are usually fastened with a crew member standing there saying dont sit here!?...these are amongst the best rows on a plane to sit on....not right at front...but views unobstructed by wings/engines ...and amongst first to be served with drinks etc..
