The current from (2010) duty and tax free allowances when travelling from another EU country to the UK are:
FOR YOUR OWN USE ONLY
•3200 cigarettes
•400 cigarillos
•200 cigars
•3 kg of smoking tobacco
•110 litres of beer
•10 litres of spirits
•90 litres of wine
•20 litres of fortified wine e.g. port or sherry

FOR YOUR OWN USE ONLY

Unfortunately, there is no possibility to buy tax free cigarettes if you fly between Poland and the UK as both countries are member states of the EU.

Of course you can buy your cigarettes (duties paid) on the street, and I guess they will be much cheaper in Poland anyway.

The advantage of duties paid cigarettes is that you can bring 3200 cigarettes per person, which is equal to 16 cartons.

As Ryanairflyer said, the cigarettes must be for personal use and not for resale (so you better put a lighter in your pocket to prove that you are a smoker :-)

Hope this info was useful. Have a nice trip!

It doesn't matter. If you want to take like 16 cartons you'd better place it in registered luggage, just to not exceed FR's hand luggage limits.
