Extra Item Seat for computer?

Post by GeekChic on Tue 26 Jul 2011 - 15:17

Hello!

I would like to take my 27" all-in-one computer with me on the flight from Venice. Can it be considered as "musical instrument" (Large musical equipment (including but not limited to cellos, harps, double bass and drums)...) or if not, can I purchase Extra Item Seat for 40 euros to have it next to me in the cabin?

I would pack the computer in specific bag, with keyboard and mouse and cable. All together, it would weight about 15 kg.

Please help me.

Thank you
G.

Can you not just ask Ryanair themselves, as it appears no one here has the answer. Sorry about that, but it's not very common to take computers on board Smile . Never heard of it myself. Having said that, I can't imagine it being a problem.

You have to call Ryanair... I belive it might not be a problem, but it is a bulky device (box) not very easy to safelly secure on a seat with a seat bealt... :-/ like it is a musical instrument or a wedding dress.

OK, if it will help anyone in the future, I've managed to travel with my 27" iMac and had no problems. I've purchased Extra item seat and carried it all the way aswell as my cabin luggage.
Computer was in a Bigsoso bag, so upside down all the time which resulted in a bit slow graphic first two days but now works just perfect. Was worth risking.
