Nice (and cheap) onward flights with Ryanair...
I have flown with Ryanair just four times (from England to
France and back and from Brno to Girona and back). My first flight was from
Stansted to Nantes (in Brittany) and when I was bording on the plane and first
time I saw the Ryanair´s interior I said: Gosh, thats really digusting! It is
such a shame that Ryanair didnt choose better colours and interior because the
737-800 series are really very good and all their aircrafs are brand new! So I
really dont understand why they didnt do it. Well, that is not important, but I
would like to now your opinion. What do you think about it?
But lets go back. I have friends in north France and I fly there quite often.
Im actually from the Czech Republic, I live in Ostrava (its 400 km far from
Prague). So the only way how to get to France for me is to fly from Prague to
Stansted with EasyJet and then fly with Ryanair to Nantes (which is quite far
from the place where I stay) BUT the departure from Prague is about 10 AM so I
have to get up at 2 AM, go by train from Ostrava, then take an hour journey to
Ruzyne Airport, so that is very annoying. I land in Nantes at 5 PM, exhausted.
My journey back is very similar but the other way round. A flight with Ryanair
from Dinard to East Midlands then with EasyJet to Prague, arrival at 10PM = so
it means there is not very good connection to Ostrava so I have to go by a
train that goes to Moscow! (You would not belive the russians carriages! They
look like they are from the Second World War and russians in it look like
sardines :Dbut fortunately there are nice
czech carriages as well. The big problem is that I arrive at 4 AM to my
destination the following day and my dad have to pick me up from the train
station. Then I usually sleep all day long! I just cannot do it because I run
an estate agency so every single day is very important for me.
All those 4 flights cost me 4.400 CZK which is about 172 euros.
I decided to visit my friends in France and started to search some flights. And
guess what? I found them, pretty nicely! With Ryanair of course, so Im flying
there:
Krakow (which is about 130 km far and my friend will give me a lift to the
airport which is very comfortable and can get up nicely at 6 AM) to London
Stansted then flight to Dinard (which is also much better!!). I will have
nearly 4 hours to wait for my onward flight do Dinard where I will arrive at 5
PM. That is enough I think and still not too bad.
My flights back are:
Dinard - Bristol - Katowice - I will also have to wait for nearly 4 hours at
Bristol airport and I will arrive at Katowice at 9 PM. Katowice is (we would
say are in Czech and Polish
) ) just 100 km far from Ostrava and I will be
given a lift too so I could be possibly at home at about 10:30 PM - it is not
so tiring, quite comfortable and I can start working from the following day
immedidately. And do you know how much all those 4 flights with Ryanair cost
me?? Just 1.600 CZK = 62 euros! And it could be even cheaper! I had not known I
had VISA ELECTRON! So it could have cost me just 1.200 CZK = 47 euros!
If I booked the horrible journey from Prague as I detailed at first part of
this story, just one flight from Prague to Stansted with EasyJet would cost me
1.200 CZK = 47 euros!
The total cost of 62 euros is nearly 200 % less then the last time! And the
whole journey is 200 % more comfortable!
So dont tell me that Ryanair is not the best airline in the world!
