Re: Security Check
Very bad idea! A pain in the ass
and you have to repeat it for every search, even when you just want to see the flights of next week.

Re: Security Check
Ryanair's new security feature blocks agent sales
The new procedure, requires the customer to enter a unique code. Agents could still book flights manually, but taking large numbers of flights by screen-scraping would be impossible.
I did buy flights from 3rd party agents and for the very basic price as shown on the RYR homepage and without the need for a new Ryanair debit card, this may change now... Not one of the best moves by RYR (IMO) considering agents were selling quite a large % of flights.
Lets see how it pans out in the future.

Re: Security Check
A comment (reference just found on PPRuNe) :
http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/Articles/2011/11/21/38831/comment-what-now-for-ryanair-after-failed-attempt-to-cut-out-agents.html
Excerpt :
If Ryanair didn’t know how much it has the trade to thank for selling its seats it does now after last week's aborted attempt to block third parties booking on its website.
As Travel Weekly revealed on Friday the Irish lowcost carrier, without warning, included an additional security level to its booking process aimed at thwarting dynamic packaging agents who screen scrape.
If industry rumours are correct and commentators on our original story are right, Ryanair lost 80% of business in the short period that the verification measure was live.
No wonder it disappeared so quickly.
Of course, this is just the travel agents' point of view ...

Re: Security Check
Very annoying. Takes away the ability to browse a multitude of flights and choose what one you want as entering a security word would become way too irritating. Why can't Ryanair allow regulars to join the site and log in with email and password ( like E****t) which would bypass the need to enter this ridiculous check each time?
