Residence Permit or Passport? *Urgent*

Post by ulenok on Wed 6 Jun 2012 - 23:04

Hi, I am from Ukraine but currently reside in the Netherlands. Ukraine is not in the EU therefore to come to the Netherlands I needed a visa but after a certain time spent here you get a residence permit that allows you to travel without a visa. Now, my visa has expired in February, and I've been told to travel with my residence permit. On the Ryanair check-in page, I have to choose between passport and EEA Id card. Is my residence permit the same as this ID card? or should I choose my passport even though the visa is expired?
