Fee for large cabin bag tried by Wizz Air

Post by atoutprix on Tue 10 Jul 2012 - 17:45

From the 1st August Wizz Air is launching a new cabin baggage policy trial on the London-Katowice route to encourage passengers to bring smaller baggage onboard and make the boarding process smoother and faster.
Wizz Air strict one cabin baggage policy per passenger remains unchanged.

What is the difference between the cabin baggage types? – SIZE!
1. Small cabin bag:
-If your cabin baggage is of size 42x32x25cm or smaller it can be taken onboard free of charge. It must fit under the seat in front of you. The weight allowance is 10kg.

2. Large cabin bag:
If your cabin baggage is larger than the dimensions of a small cabin bag but not exceeding 55x40x20cm, you can take it onboard for a newly introduced €10 fee. It must fit in the overhead compartment. The weight allowance is 10kg.

Wizz Air is setting a bad example for other LCC ! (FR ?)

I would still go with the free bag if i ever flew Wizz Air, the fee may deter some pax from flying.. maybe RYR can have a break from bad press for a while bounce
Soon we will all need to fly naked affraid Embarassed

Other bad ideas !
Read in "Airliner world" for August 2012, page 4 :
" some carriers are now saying that even window or aisle seat could be sold at an extra cost. Forgetting the logistical nightmare that could ensue, it effectively means that couples or families will not be able to sit together without incurring an extra charge."
Who are those carriers is not stated ...
