Duty Free

Post by JFT on Wed 25 Jul 2012 - 12:37

Can someone advise me why it is possible to take a Duty Free bag on flights from Bristol to Knock but not on flights from Knock to Bristol?

This latter restriction cost me €25 and spoilt my holiday Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Not all Ryanair Flights/ Departure Airports allow more than one piece of hand luggage(very confusing for the passenger-especially if a passenger is making more than one flight and passing through several airports. (if you can carry a extra duty free bag on a Ryanair flight- that airport will display signs clearly stating the same).

This does not answer my question - all it does is point out the obvious - which I now know through bitter experience.

Do not blame Departure airports this is solely Ryanair policy.

Ryanair is a 1 hand luggage per person carrier.. something we all know, it seems offering some the chance to carry 2 from certain airports is not popular with some, like i say if this option is available the Airport/s and Ryanair will let it be known to the passenger by way of visible notice boards.

Amongst such airports are, at the moment, Brussels South Charleroi and Manchester.
You can board the airplane there with your normal hand baggage and a bag from the skyshop.
It's clearly posted at the shop and around.

One cabin bag plus a duty free bag is an agreement between the airport and the handling agent of that airport. However it states very clearly on the RYR Boarding Pass what you are aloud to carry onboard:

WARNING 1 CABIN BAG ONLY 55 X 40 X 20 CM (MAX 10 KG)
HANDBAG, BRIEFCASE, LAPTOP, SHOP PURCHASES, CAMERAS ETC. MUST BE CARRIED WITHIN YOUR 1 CABIN BAG.
