Ryanair have confirmed today ,after the believed pilot suicide of the Germanwings crash, that two pilots must be in the cockpit during flight.

The article says 2 people (crew members) not two pilots. That would mean the pilots wouldn't be able to visit the toilet at all. If you have a flight of 10 hours, for example, that would be inhuman. bounce

Well I think is better. Although some pilots might feel invasive about it.
That every time there has to be a crew member inside.
I don't know whats best. It's true it can reduce the chances of suicide, but then the crew member has to have some minimal knowledge of flying or how to unlock the cockpit door.

Aer Lingus have done this to. Was there always a requirement for this set out by the Irish Aviation Authority?

But the thing is , is it really going to eliminate the chance of an accident. It. might reduce it but then the person who is in has to do something.... And perhaps not closing the doors would help.
