Post by stuart from barnsley on Thu 12 Feb 2009 - 22:04

I fly EMA to AGP about every 10 days staying in Spain for 5 days,on the flight from Malaga after around 1 hour of flying the fasten seat belt light is displayed with the usuall message and then after 15 - 20 mins turned off with no turbulance being experianced. Anyone any idea why?

.......this will probably happen on most flights. Anytime the door into the cockpit has got to be opened in flight (coffee etc.), the fasten seat belt sign will be switched on. It MIGHT also happen when cabin crew want to keep the trolleys moving down the aisle !!! JK

I experienced this when flying to STN from GSE last year, the fasten seatbelt sign was turned on and the Cabin crew made announcements about this and it was due to turbulence, 2 mins later the Captain came out and went to the lavatory, when he entered the flight deck again afterwards the seatbelt sign was turned off. My observations said, that this procedure is not always happen. Even if it's good security (especially after 9.11) reason.
