Those expansion plans are mostly rumours.
The plans are also 'plans', wich means 'no sure things', but in the future new routes could be announced.
So have a little patience

Many of us think that Eindhoven could be a good base as there are many flight usually with good price. Unfortunatelly as long as there is Weeze base very close, EIN will probable only be a destination Wink
Several months ago somebody mentioned about some small airport near Amsterdam to become a destination soon. Could anybody say some more about it?

There are plans to extend Lelystad's runway to 2100 meters (it's now about 1250 meters) so there can land bigger planes (like 737s, A320s).
The plan is meant to reduce the flights from Amsterdam Schiphol (especially charter aircraft and low-cost airlines)

Also the airports Maastricht, Eindhoven, Rotterdam and Groningen may receive Schiphol-flights.

@ pepijn28: you can look on the Eindhoven Airport 'Fanclub', http://www.ewas.nl/eforum/ on the subforum 'Civiel'. In this forum you can see if there are new destinations added in the slot system.

Hope you informed enough!

Thanx Wouter! Heb me aangemeld op forum Ehv Airport! Wordt tijd dat er flink wat zakelijke bestemmingen bijkomen zoals Berlijn, Parijs, Warschau en Glasgow! Al die flutbestemmingen zoals Pescara en Alghereo die gaan toch in de wintedienstregeling eruit!

I think that terms as "Flutbestemmingen" are at least a stupid way of talking. Not only because Alghero and Pescara are bases and not destinations (besides, ever looked at the prices to/from these "flutbestemmingen?).
About Lelystad I read on other forums that it would be in the plans of FR to fly to/from there from half 2010, when the airport will be suitable for Boeing-737 or similar.
Off course Lelystad would be more comfortable to people travelling to Amsterdam than EIN does.
Groningen was once a FR destination (6 years ago I mean)

I think eventually RYR will have a presence in the Netherlands, although Eindhoven is close to Weeze - it still would make a good way of travelling cheap to the Netherlands. I would hope somewhere very close to Amsterdam, as Eindhoven is 1 hour 30 minutes away; not ideal!
