NEEDLES AND SAFETY PINS

Post by jeeneedee on Sat 18 Jul 2009 - 13:42

I got stopped with my hand luggage last year when travelling Easyjet and had to empty it all out. The culprit was a needle and thread. Can you anyone tell me if its ok to pack these things in my checked in baggage to go in the hold please.

Checked baggage its no problem once packed properly. Leaving it in cabin luggage wouldn't be allowed but it would depend on security at the airport.

I always carry a neddle and thread in my cabin baggage and have never been questioned about it. In fact I travelled with FR (seldom travel with anyone else) the other day with a sewing kit that I'd just bought (many pins and neddles!) in my carry on baggage, seems like you had a real jobsworthMad checking you.

Yes I think I just had the wrong chap on the day. He emptied everything out in front of everyone and wouldnt let me help to put things back and then I had to go the back and come through again. So no breakfast that day Evil or Very Mad
